This is today’s guest devotional from our Tinley Park Campus Pastor, Rachel Jones:

He SEES Me
One of the most comforting thoughts in this life is that we are not alone in it. Knowing that there is a hope beyond myself (who fails), beyond people (who will fail me), and that there’s a never failing, loving God, who is caring for me each and every moment of my life. There’s no greater peace I can have. That comfort gives me confidence to believe, and to keep going no matter what I face.
Today I want to remind you of the God who SEES you. He sees you there in the season you’re in, He sees your broken heart, your wounded spirit, He sees your joy, your depression, your failures and your triumphs. God sees and He cares. In Genesis 16 we find the story of Abram, Sarai and Hagar the maidservant. Sarai wanted a child so badly, she gave her servant to her husband so that she could have a child for her. Things didn’t go as sweetly as she planned and the two women could no longer get along (Hagar despised Sari, and Sarai treated Hagar harshly) and Hagar ran away. In the midst of this great pain, a broken heart and pregnant, God came to her at her weakest. In her misery God saw her and spoke a word to her, with a promise. She was comforted and spoke these words;  “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me.” (Get 16:13)
It is God who has stitched us together in our mothers womb. It is He who created our life and purpose. God makes no mistakes. No matter what the world sees, God will always see beyond and He sees right to your heart, and knows your every need. Knowing that God sees, means you are never alone and not forgotten. It means you are known and that you matter. You have a place in this world that is so important that God would come and give you an encouraging word at the moment you want to give up. God says, “No, I have a plan and purpose for you. Don’t give up. Look to Me and I will be with you.” He is a God who gives and keeps His promises.
No matter where you find yourself today…God sees you. He understands and He cares for you so deeply. Can I encourage you today? Do not wait until you are at your weakest to seek the One who sees you. I challenge you to seek Him now and with all your heart. “But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul. (Deut. 4:29) Seek Him and He will be found. God’s love is so overwhelming, the more you get to know Him, the more you grow and develop into who He made you to be. So keep going after God with your whole heart, there’s always more you can receive from Him. He’s everlasting!
Will you seek God with me today? Let’s pray,
Father thank you for your never failing love. Thank you for getting me, you truly understand me; when no one else does, you do. You see me wherever I am and you care for me.  Thank you for seeing me, and please help me to see You wherever I am and to seek you with all my heart and soul. In Jesus name, Amen.
