I do not serve a god of debt; I serve a debt-canceling God! The Son has set me free, and I am debt-free indeed. I declare this a season of Jubilee, all debt is cancelled in the mighty name of Yeshua.

Great message yesterday Pastor Jerry. Liked what you said about expenses happening ... On Jan. 27 I made my last car payment (thank you Jesus) and I was thinking great now I can snowball down everything else. Then I had tires that had to be replaced a few weeks ago (my six-year mechanic showed me and said he was surprised they hadn't blown ...) and I was thinking .."I can't get ahead" ... but, because of saving, cutting spending the past several months, I had the $263.81 CA$H to pay for it and not put it on the credit card. I came so close to charging it but said NO i'm gonna pay for this now (and this was before yesterday's sermon) ..gonna try to make it on he 17th. ... take care! God Bless!

My wife and and I have learned that when we do our part by being consistent and faithful to sow generously and cheerfully, God does His part and blesses us with the abundance of His grace (2 Corinthians 9:6-15). We formed a home-based business (PFL Solutions) and have paid off one of our biggest debts...it was in the thousands; we no longer have that $281.00 monthly payment and can use that money to further pay down other debt. We also reduced our cell phone bill by over $100.00 per month (who talks that much anyway), and have a plan to be "debt-free" by December 31, 2012. I say that qualifies for a "praise report." Hallelujah!

I've been a pastor for 50 years and a stewardship consultant for the last 15. This answer is spot on. I really appreciate all your posts, but a commute from California just won't do, so I'll keep enjoying from afar.

WE CAN DO "ALL" THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO GIVES US STRENGTH"...THAT INCLUDES GETTING OUT OF DEBT! REMEMBER, OUR GOD IS ABLE TO DO EXCEEDING ABUNDANTLY ABOVE ALL WE CAN ASK OR IMAGINE. HE WILL NEVER LEAVE US NOR FORSAKE US. LET US THEREFORE COME BOLDLY UNTO GOD'S THRONE OF GRACE THAT WE MAY OBTAIN MERCY AND FIND GRACE TO HELP US IN OUR TIME OF NEED. FOR HE WHO PROMISED IS FAITHFUL AND HE WILL DO IT. LET THIS BE A WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT FOR THOSE WHO ARE STRUGGLING WITH DEBT. IN JESUS NAME.

So true, Pastor. I love the Book of Proverbs. I receive a new revelation everytime I read it ("faith comes by hearing" over and over and over).
I have found that when applying Proverbs 9:7-8, the result is just as God's Word says. So I just continue to pray to walk in godly wisdom and pray that others too will desire to walk in the Wisdom of God because it makes so much sense....Duh!!!

We loved, loved, loved today's service! Such powerful truths (and yes we love it when you yell - old PAW thing (smile). But you brought such truth and a genuine desire for us to "get" it. We KNOW that God wants our church body debt-free so we can show the world what God can really do in the life of a surrendered person! Such excitement. Great start! CLC is on the rise!!!

You touched a little bit on how filing bankruptcy is NOT the answer. Does the scripture say anything in particular about that specifically?

We thank God for you and Pastor Chris, for your obedience to His leading and for the group of dedicated men and women He has surrounded you with in this season! Right now, our house is asking for favor in the time of favor. Let it rain, let it rain! RUAH was unbelievable! The Ellisons

Fri night & Sat. Tim & I attended a Life Group Leaders Conference with others from CLC. It was the highlight of the fast for me. As the conference began Sat, one of the speakers lead us in a "listening to God" exercise. She read Luke 10 three times with silence after each reading. She asked during the first reading to see if a word or phrase jumped out at us. During the silence we were to listen to God. With each reading, she asked us to ask God more. It was an awesome time. She concluded by asking what challenge, invitation or next step does God want you to take regarding this message. I heard some beautiful truths regarding issues I am dealing with now. I say "amen" to continuing this hunger after more of God and keeping this momentum going!!!

Our God is so Awesome and His Word is true. He will keep us from seen and unseen dangers. On Thursday morning after attending our Wednesday night service, I was traveling east on 183rd Street and I was broadsided by a driver going south on Central Ave. It was a three car accident. No one was injured in cars that were traveling around 45mph. My car was totaled. I give God all the glory, the honor and the praise for not only watching over me but also the other two ladies involved in the accident.

Lord, you alone are our portion and our cup; you make our lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for us in pleasant places; surely we have a delightful inheritance. We shall praise you Lord, for you counsel us; even at night our hearts instruct us (Psalm 16:5-7). Thank you, Lord, that it is You who works in us to will and to act according to Your good purpose; for we are confident that You who began a good work in us will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 2:13, 1:6). Amen.

Yes...let's delight ourselves in the Lord today so that He will give us the desires of our heart (Psalm 37:4).

Father, I pray for the Holy Spirit to lead a revival among our youth at ALIVE Winter camp this weekend so that those attending will experience Jesus like never before and be able to represent Him rightly in everything they say and do in the days, weeks and months that follow.

May there be multi-cultural multiplication of families and leaders in each of CLC's ministries this year that will reflect our communities and bring glory to Your Name. Amen.

Pastor Jerry,
Last night (approximately 7:50 p.m.) as I was standing in Holy Grounds, praying in the Spirit and speaking out loud what I was hearing from the Holy Spirit, I felt a strong impression that something happened supernaturally, which destroyed previous hindrances to prayer and that God had released answered prayer. Now I am believing with you and our CLC family that the srongholds are gone and CLC stays in faith as we are enjoying answered Prayer from the Giver of all good things, God. Nahum 1:7-9 (Amp) THE LORD IS GOOD, A STRENGTH AND STRONGHOLD IN THE DAY OF TROUBLE; He knows (Recognizes, has knowledge of, and understands) those who take refuge and trust in Him. 8)But with an overrunning flood He will make a full end of [Ninevah's very] site and pursue His enemies into darkness. 9)What do you devise and [how mad is your attempt to] plot against the Lord? He will make a full end [of Ninevah]; affliction [which My people shall suffer from Assyria] SHALL NOT RISE UP THE SECOND TIME.
--Deborah Pierce

Thank you PJ, verse 7 cough my attention , I read today in 1 Samuel 17 when David faced the giant not on his own strength but in the name of the Lord. I feel great things are coming from the Lord to our CLC family.

Pastor, I won't lie, I feel a little twinge in my heart everytime I read that section in the Bible. I'm sure if I had been the woman and Jesus said that to me, I probably would have said, "Say what now!" (LOL). But it also reminds me of how we sometimes feel when we go to God with our prayer requests and the devil tries to condemn us by telling us we are not worthy to be in the presence of God, let alone having our prayer requests answered.

In our daily reading, Genesis 42:38, why does Jacob tell Ruben that Benjamin is "all he has left" when he clearly has 10 other sons in his presence...with Simeon having remained in Egypt & he believed Joseph to be dead?

I also thought that he didn't want any attention on him to rush his death. He told countless people don't tell nobody after he healed them and once they did the Pharisees got upset and questioned him.

Good sermon, Pastor Jerry,
I believe PRAYER is like anything else in life: YOU ONLY GET OUT OF IT WHAT YOU PUT INTO IT!!! Sow into it sparingly, that's what you can expect. Sow into it generously, and watch God open the floodgates of Heaven and pour out so much blessing won't have any room for it. But that's just me. Day 6...gotta keep it moving. Be blessed.

what i am hearing from God is, to open up my mouth wide, and He will fill it. To trust Him even more this year, and to "GO FORWARD:" Not to look back at anything. In this fast, the Holy Spirit is up rooting some things that I did'nt know was still there. When this happans, I go to the ROCK that higher then me, and that;s Jesus Christ.
True repentant is sooo good for the soul ! I think God for the Holy Spirit, because He can uncover anything.

Well, although I've never fasted before (yep, not once since I got saved back in 1984...not particularly proud of that) I am learning that the Holy Spirit helps us get through the hunger pains when we truly keep our focus on Him, which is exactly what I've been doing through prayer and the Word. I made an unusual request of God before I began this fast...to keep me from losing ANY weight during this fast (can't afford to lose even a pound since I'm trying to GAIN weight...yes, gain not lose), and I'm happy to report that I actually GAINED a pound since beginning this fast...hallelujah, God is awesome!!! Day 5...gotta keep it moving. Be blessed!!!

Thank You, Thank You. I am enjoying the check ups about me.
How wonderful to realize that with each personal change comes a better servant of the Lord. Thank You. The Word only produces the righteousness of Christ in a person.

What awesome services today. Surely, the presence of the Lord was, and still is, at CLC. The worship, the prayer and the teaching on the Holy Spirit were powerful. I too loved the song, "The Anthem/Hallelujah." I could barely stand! The wind is shifting and the FIRE is burning at CLC. Souls are being saved, delivered, set free and HEALED (talking about my healing). To God be all glory, honor and praise!

I know its late in the evening, but in keeping with our Prayer and Fasting focus for today.... Increased activity of the Holy Spirit.... I've been conversing with God and claiming these scriptures. Perhaps they will motivate you as well.

Mark 16:15-18 [Jesus] said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. [16] Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. [17] And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; [18] they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”

1 Corinthians 1:7-8 Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed. [8] He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 2:4-5 My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, [5] so that your faith might not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power.

John 14:11-12 ...at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves. I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

Romans 11:29 God’s gifts and his call are IRREVOCABLE.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the SAME yesterday and TODAY and forever.

Thanks, Pastor Dan - that's kind of you. I'm not sure if you're referring to the daily devotionals that I'll post during the fast or the Sunday sermons, so I'll answer both - the blog posts will be here at www.betweensermons.com each day from January 15-February 4. We're actually not preaching about fasting; we're in a series about the Holy Spirit that started last Sunday and will continue thru the fast. Those messages can be accessed at our website, www.clc.tv or I think you can subscribe thru iTunes as well. Thanks again,

Pastor Jerry,
That absolutely helps...at least for me it does. And I pray that anyone else who reads your response to this question will have some clarity as well. Thank you.
Looking forward to our 21-day fast. I believe God is about to do some amazing, life-changing, things in the life of every CLCer who joins in. And, I give praise and thanks to our Lord in advance for what He is about to do in my own life via this fast. I'm excited!
See you on Sunday. Until then, be blessed.

Hello,

Pastor you have one message that stands out - What are your thoughts on the infamous Christian cliche: “WE ARE SINNERS SAVED BY GRACE.” How can we be sinners if we are saved? I thought we were “saints” once we got saved. How then can we still be sinners? It’s like a former drug user getting in front of an NA group ten years after he has been delivered from drug abuse and saying ” Hi, my name is so and so and I’m a drug addict who hasn’t used drugs in ten years.” I know we still sin in word, thought and deed, but if we’re still sinners, then we’ve emptied the Cross of its power and Christ died for nothing. -- Think about it that's where saved by grace comes in. -- Please advise…

Thanks,

...And by the way, I also believe Tim Tebow is the real deal. Every athlete who professes to be a follower of Christ should represent Him every chance they get while on the "big stage." An unbelieving world is watching...and so is Christ, who said, "If you deny me before men, I shall deny you before my Father and His angels."

Three people come to mind when I think of Tim Tebow....Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. Better known as Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. It wasn't in Babylon that Daniel and his friends discovered God. Long before they were carried off to Babylon I believe their faith, commitment and love for God was strong and established.

Pastor good information to pass on. I like the part - But if you surrender to the purposes of God your youth will be renewed, your joy will be restored and your strength will be reborn. It is not time to slow down. Prayer for all.

Thanks have a blessed day.

I would really like to see Pastor Chris' Word form God, posted so that I can meditate on it during the new year. God speakes to us through her and I especially would like to see it (I am a visual learner) posted.

It was very rejuvenating and inspiring. I 'm especially looking for the the birthing of great things in the new year in our church among our members, in our families, and in our communities. Bob Yanndian's ( I hope I spelled it right) comment was so powerful! He said, "Jesus spit upon the blindness!" I'm sure we all have experienced a challening condition or circumstance that has disabled our ability to excell, overcome, and stay faith-filled. We have to learn to first spit upon those crippling events in our lives, and boldly as we stay in God's presence with pray and praise, until we can break through.

Pastor, we wanted to especially thank you for the gift of video live streaming. As we closed out my mother's affairs and finally got her place emptied out we were just exhausted. It was so nice to be able to join in service last night, receive the blessings and be able to give financially all at the same time; it's simply wonderful. Thank you for leading this awesome team of people who work so hard to make the media experience be as good as the live event! Happy New Year!
